Norouz Persian New Year Festival

Welcome the Persian new year with dance, music and art from the richness of this ancient Iranian culture. Admire the beautiful haft-seen table (ornamental display of traditional items celebrating the beginning of spring) and enjoy a traditional Persian treat. Art projects include decorating scarves and eggs.

Location: Key Courtyard

Tickets: Free festival. General admission to Bowers Museum is free on Festival Sundays for Members and Santa Ana residents only.

Face painting, art projects (scarf-making and egg-decorating), traditional Haft-Seen table By Samira, Persian Name Art, meet and greet Uncle and Auntie Norouz, live entertainment, and a special Persian treat.

12 pm                  Ava Dance Studio students perform folk and modern dances of Iran
12:30 pm             Morteza Yadollahi and Mehrdad Naghibian perform traditional Iranian music on an ancient tar, daf & tonbak instruments.

1:30 pm               California Zoroastrian Center students perform traditional Persian dance and music
1:50 pm               Golbung Society presents Dariush Khajepoor on guitar and Golbung Daf Group 
2:10 pm               Djanbazian Dance Company perform traditional dances from across Iran 2:15 pm               Dara Afraz, Matin Es’haghi and Misaq Es’haghi perform traditional Iranian music with tonbak, daf, tar, & kamancheh instruments
