The Bowers Museum offers free admission on Target Free First Sundays.
Festivals take place from 11 AM to 3:30 PM.
Asian Lunar New Year Family Festival

Norma Kershaw Auditorium
1:00 PM Oliver Chin: a presentation on his children's book, The Year of the Horse

11 AM – 4 PM Face painting, Chinese Calligraphy demonstration, Chinese Dragon Puppet, Asian Paper Lantern and Dragon Head Piece art projects.
NOON Hsi Lai Chinese Drum Troupe

12:45 PM Mr. Jiao, Master Musician of the Chinese 3-String Instrument: the sanxiang
1 PM Lightning Tai Chi led by Master Bob Hsing.
Tai Chi Quan is an ancient means to maintain and improve health.
2 PM Minh Tran – Astounding Vietnamese-Chinese Magician and Acrobat
2:45 PM Viet Cam Dance, performing the lovely traditional dances of Viet Nam.
Free admission to special exhibition "Gods & Gifts: Vatican Ethnological Collection" is limited to the first 1,500 people on a first come, first served basis. Each recipient must be present. Tickets can be picked up in the North Wing.
Free admission is also included to Bowers Museum permanent exhibitions, Kidseum and limited engagement exhibitions including: A Quest for Beauty: The Art of Van Cleef & Arpels, Revolution to Romanticism: Freedom of Expression in 19th Century European Painting, Sacred Realms: Temple Murals by Shashi Dhoj Tulachand; Spirits and Headhunters: Art of the Pacific Islands; California Legacies: Missions and Ranchos; Vision of the Shaman, Song of the Priest; California: The Golden Years; Ancient Arts of China, and Framed: Step into Art at Kidseum.
Free admission to Bowers Kidseum included. Kidseum hours: 10 AM – 4 PM.
