Panel Discussion: Elements & Extremes in Plein Air Painting
Talks
Nationally renowned artists with the California Art Club share their daring adventures to capture on canvas imagery rarely depicted in paintings.
The panel will include:
Peter Adams, who traveled for two six-months trips in South Asia in the 1980s and disguised himself to chronicled the activities of the Mujahideen rebels in Soviet-occupied Afghanistan.
Toni Danchik, who was born and raised in South Africa and focuses her paintings on the plight of women and children living in the shanty towns and rural villages of Africa.
Charles Muench, who resides between the Sierra Mountains and the high plains desert finds his inspiration from the remote, quiet places of the high desert and the rugged peaks of the high Sierra and the challenges of painting at 10,000 feet, dealing with bugs and bears, and why mules truly are Sierra Cadillacs.
Moderated by Michael Obermeyer, California Art Club President and Signature Artist
Toni Danchik and Charles Muench will be replacing William Stout and Jean LeGassick who have unavoidable and conflicting circumstances.
