Not Far From Here
SATURDAY | MARCH 29
10:30 AM – 12 PM | MISSIONS & RANCHOS EXHBITION
Debut author Nydia Armendia-Sánchez tells a story of familial love, creativity, and comunidad through a translanguaged text that seamlessly shifts from English to español and back. This style will feel familiar to many second- and third-generation Latine families—and evocative to immigrant families of any heritage. Brilliantly brought to life by Devon Holzwarth's rich, imaginative illustrations, this warm abrazo of a book also features a glossary of Spanish words.
Held every last Saturday of the month, Storytime in the Galleries includes free copies of each author’s featured book for the first 35 to RSVP and free General Admission to the galleries for the first 35 participants to arrive at each event. Reading in the galleries will be followed by a simple, fun art project that kids will love.
