A continuation of the East Meets West series launched by the Sino US Performing Arts Organization and Bowers Museum in 2022, the upcoming 2025 installment, A Chinese Music Journey with Emmy Winner Nathan Wang, returns to Bowers Museum on August 10, 2025, 1:30 to 3 pm, in the Norma Kershaw Auditorium. This special program will spotlight iconic music from Chinese films, songs, and games that have resonated with American audiences.
Featuring Emmy Award-winning Chinese American composer and pianist Nathan Wang, joined by BBC Cardiff Singer of the World winner Mezzo Soprano Guang Yang and the versatile chamber quartet Saltando Strings, this 90-minute concert invites audiences on a captivating journey through ancient Chinese civilizations. Through a rich blend of musical genres, the performance, presenting melodies from The Myth, Hero, A Terracotta Warrior, Shaolin Temple, The Last Emperor, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Song of Yue People, Honor of Kings, etc., brings to life historical tales and timeless myths.
