Jewels of Power: Traditional Jewelry from North Africa and the Middle East
Sigrid van Roode is an archaeologist, ethnographer, and jewelry historian specializing in North African and Southeast Asian jewelry, as well as archaeological revival jewelry. She holds a PhD from Leiden University, where her research focused on jewelry, informal ritual practices, and collections. An accomplished author, Sigrid has written several books on jewelry and its cultural significance. She provides expert consultancy and research for museums and private collectors, curates exhibitions, and teaches specialized courses. Based in Leiden, the Netherlands, she is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the rich histories embedded in jewelry traditions worldwide.
