Inherited Material Culture with Chawne Kimber
SUNDAY | AUGUST 30 | 1:30PM
NORMA KERSHAW AUDITORIUM

Through an autobiography in ancestral quilts and her own development as a textile artist, Chawne Kimber will explore cultures of materiality and modes of expression using cloth. Her ancestors (unwillingly) farmed and dyed cotton in the southern United States and then engaged in quiltmaking out of necessity. There are contrasts and parallels in her ruminative and ethical modern art practice.

This program is made possible through a generous bequest by Lynda Thomas (1950-2021).

Ticketed Event: Members $15 | General $20
