SUNDAY | FEBRUARY 16 | 11 AM – 1 PM | Fantasy Exhibit & Norma Kershaw Auditorium | Onsite Tour & Book Discussion
For Bowers Members Only: A Book Club Experience
Join Books at Bowers for a day of fantasy literature! Begin the morning with a docent led tour of Fantasy: Realms of the Imagination and experience the exhibit’s richness and salute to Fantasy on closing day.
Following the tour at noon, join us to discuss two works by Olivie Blake, a New York Times bestselling fantasy author. Members are invited to read Blake’s newest work of fiction, a collection of short stories entitled Januaries, which will break your heart while the stories re-imagine love, a perfect read for February. Januaries features modified fairy tales and contemporary situations told with evocative writing, complex characters and tightly woven plots. Fourteen short stories are organized by the four seasons that challenge the imagination with enchanting new worlds.
Book club participants may also read Blake’s most acclaimed novel, The Atlas Six, a New York Times bestseller that focuses on six talented magicians who accept an invitation to join the world’s foremost secret society based on the ancient Library of Alexandria. “At the crux of the story, though, is the philosophy of whether knowledge should be administered and kept by a few or provided openly to all.” (The Literary Escape, 2022)
Free for Bowers Members. RSVP on Bowers.org. A confirmation email will be sent to participants prior to the event. Questions? Email
