Cinema Italiano: Beautiful – Bellissima (1951)

A satire of the film industry, Bellissima is an Italian neorealism film directed by Luchino Visconti. It centers around a working-class stage mother in Rome, Maddalena, who tries desperately to get her daughter into the movies (IMDb).

Do you love attending Cinema Italiano but don’t love the subtitles? Arrive early for basic Italian language classes led by Italian Language Professor Petra Petry. Classes and screenings will take place in the Norma Kershaw Auditorium.
