Lin Yu-shan and a Century of Taiwan's Art with Dr. Kuo-Sheng Lai
Lin Yu-shan lived for almost an entire century, from 1907 to 2004. Besides being one of the “Three Youths” winning the first Taiwan Art Exhibition, he is also remembered as a master of ink painting and Tōyōga, a new kind of painting similar to Nihonga introduced to Taiwan by the Japanese. This lecture discusses Lin Yu-shan's styles throughout his lifetime. His art reflected different periods of Taiwan's art history through the 20th century.
Don't miss this special guest lecture by Dr. Kuo-Sheng Lai, Assistant Curator, National Palace Museum (Southern Branch) and Adjunct Assistant Prof, National Chung Cheng University here for a limited time.
Co-sponsored by the Chinese Cultural Art Council, an affiliate council of the Bowers Museum, and the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Society of USA.
