Join Paul Gravett, curator of Asian Comics: Evolution of an Art Form, as he presents an illustrated overview of some of the key creators and their characters. He will also explore several unique techniques developed in Asian comics and consider the form’s current trends and changes in the digital era.

About the speaker:
Paul Gravett is the Barbican Guest Curator of ‘Asian Comics’. He is a London-based writer, curator and historian specialising in international comics art. His books include ‘Manga: Sixty Years of Japanese Comics’ (Harper, 2004), ‘Comics Art’ (Yale University Press, 2014), and ‘Mangasia: The Definitive Guide to Asian Comics’ (Thames & Hudson, 2017). He has curated exhibitions for The Cartoon Museum, The British Library and House of Illustration in London, The Belgian Comics Art Museum in Brussels, The Cartoonmuseum in Basel, and The Centre Pompidou, Paris, among others.
